Solar Pump Aide Vulnerable

2019

Cameroon

Many villages in Cameroon still do not have access to running drinking water. At best, there is a hand pump nearby. However, this requires a lot of physical labor and it takes quite some time to get water. In these places, an electric solar pump and some simple water pipes can provide a solution.

Within this pilot project, such an installation is being worked on in the village of Nko'o, with a view to possible expansions in the future. For example, an estimate will be made on site of the possibility of developing a similar project in a nearby village. An important aspect here is the exchange of knowledge and close cooperation with the local population. This creates an incentive within the community to implement and maintain such installations themselves in the future. In this way, the population is involved in the project as much as possible, which fits in with Humasol's vision on sustainable development cooperation.
