Chalmoogra

2026

Senegal

The project takes place at Ferme de Mass, a pedagogical farm, 3 hours drive from Dakar. Currently, the farm uses a small solar setup to power a lamp, TV, and water pump. The goal of the project is to design and install a larger PV system that can fully meet the farm’s energy needs such as refrigeration, water pumping, lighting, and aquaponics integration.

The farm offers educational programs for local students in financial precarious situations, and wants to become more sustainable and self-sufficient through this project. Senegalese contact Masse Mbaye and Belgian coordinator Johan Poppe will supervise and assist in implementation. Three Senegalese students will help install the solar panels and ensure proper integration with all the local installations.
