Brilliant Stars School

St. Martin, a community-based organization founded by women and youth, is dedicated to empowering the most vulnerable families in Homabay and Migori Counties, Kenya. Our project takes place at the Brilliant Star School that provides education to 530 learners.The school serves a diverse range of students, primarily aged between 6 to 14 years. This project includes the installation of a solar powered system and a solar powered irrigation system for three acres of land.

The aim of the solar power system is to extend study hours into the evening, thus enhancing learning opportunities and improving academic performances while ensuring the safety and security of our students, especially the female learners, through better illumination of the school grounds. 

The aim of the irrigation system is to develop a farm, using the nearby river and hand dug well as water source. In that way, we can help provide at least one nutritious meal a day to students throughout the year. This system will not only bolster the school feeding program but can also be used as a practical educational tool.
