Ayonnah

2026

Benin

Ayonnah is an organisation that was founded by Marie-Claude, born in Benin, who wants to give something back to her community. Together with her husband, she started a farm, called Mînwà, where three families are living at the moment. The name Mînwà means “common, do it together,” reflecting the spirit of cooperation that drives the project. Their focus is on human health, since it’s better to avoid sickness than to fight it. Together, they are dedicated to help local initiatives, such as providing bicycles and several Kenyan beehives for honey production.

During our project, we will install a PV-installation that powers a solar pump for an irrigation system and ensures local energy use. Furthermore, we will make sure the irrigation system can provide water for the manioc plantation during the dry season. If there would be enough time, another PV installation and irrigation system will be installed at another location.

Together with the local families, we aim to set up a sustainable installation that provides for their needs. We are truly excited to work on this project and bring it to life in Africa this summer.
